OUR STORY
AGRIRESEARCH, a youth National Non-Governmental Organization initiated in 2018 and
started operating professionally in 2020. Initially, It started as a club in University of
Rwanda, College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medecine (UR-CAVM) fostering
research culture in youth and popularizing agriculture through community outreach programs
by interacting with farmers around the campus.
Founders have had a conviction that
given the negative impacts of potential climate change’s negative impacts on agriculture and,
without a sufficiently creative, committed generation-after-generation agricultural scientific
community, hunger which is a hurdle to human capital development and, therefore, the overall national
development—could continue to impede Rwanda’s development; and that without such a community, the
zero-hunger food security status could not be a near-future humankind achievement. It was in the
above context that AGRIRESEARCH was created to put in a place a research ecosystem and a team of
outstanding, creative and productive researchers to deal with the above challenges.
